Must-see places in Da Nang
There are five marble mountains that are named after the five elements: Metal (Kim), Wood (Moc), Water (Thuy), Fire (Hoa), Earth (Tho). They are located in the south of Da Nang. Several Buddhist pagodas are around this area. Also, visitors can spend time exploring the caves here. Thuy Son is open to visitors who can go there on the stairway of 156 steps to the top of the mountain and enjoy a great view from there.
Linh Ung Pagoda – Son Tra Peninsula
This is the largest one of the three Linh Ung pagodas in Da Nang. It has the most impressive scenery on Son Tra peninsula. It is located about 10 km from the city center. Lady Buddha statue in this pagoda is believed to protect the local fishermen when they are at sea. Many Buddhist people come and pray here. Visitors can also enjoy the tranquil atmosphere here as well as the amazing views of My Khe Beach and Da Nang city and the lovely sunsets.
This is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Da Nang. It was finished in 2013 and its design was recognized as the most unique in Vietnam. It was inspired by the image of the Dragon of the Ly Dynasty. In the evening, it is decorated with colorful lights. At weekends and public holidays, the dragon even sprays water or fire from 21:00. Many local people and visitors gather there to watch this interesting activity.
My Khe Beach
The beach is 5 km from the city center. It is the most popular beach in Da Nang. Forbes Magazine even recognized it as one of the most attractive beaches on the planet. People can always enjoy the blue sky, white sand and transparent water there. Along the beach, there are also many coconut trees. The whole are is relaxing, peaceful and safe. It is ideal for swimming all year round. Watching the sunrise on the beach is breathtaking as well.
